Twitter cooks up a storm over 18% GST on parota

The hashtag #Handsoff-Porotta has 15k tweets, and counting. Memes on social media are rolling in thick and fast. The reason for the outrage is a recent decision of the GST Authority for Advance Rulings (AAR) that distinguished between ‘rotis’ and ‘parotas’, holding that the latter is subject to a higher GST rate of 18%.
