SpiceJet pilots suspended for overshooting runway

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Saturday suspended the flying licenses of the pilots operating SpiceJet Coimbatore-Mumbai flight on July 2 which overshot the runway on landing at the destination. The regulator’s probe into this incident has found that this flight had “floated for long time (over the runway) before touching down about 4,462 feet (almost 1.4 km) from the threshold (the usable part of the runway).”
